Debbie McNeil
What inspired you to start your fitness journey at Prime Fitness?
I had friends that worked out at Prime and they encouraged me to come try a class. Before I had worked out on my own unless I was in an aerobics class. I enjoyed the team atmosphere where everyone encourages and motivates one another.
How long have you been training with us, and what do you love most about your time here?
I’ve been at Prime for over 10 years. I love how the classes are challenging and changing often enough that I never get bored.
When you’re not at the gym, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy reading, cross-stitching, outdoor activities, traveling and family time.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I was in the military, love Penn State football and just this year got my first unassisted chin-up and pull-up.
What accomplishment are you most proud of since joining Prime Fitness?
Getting my first unassisted chin-up and pull-up. Also finally getting my macros where I needed to lose weight which allowed my joints to feel better which led to becoming stronger by increasing lean muscle mass.
How has training impacted your life outside the gym?
It has helped me stay active for all the outdoor activities I enjoy like hiking, biking, skiing and gardening.
How has the Prime Fitness community influenced your fitness journey?
They truly keep me motivated and challenged. We all encourage each other to do our best.
Is there a specific training session, exercise, or piece of equipment you look forward to the most?
I enjoy all the workouts but my most favorite right now would be bench press, chin-ups and pull-ups. It’s also fun when we can have team races for a finisher just to have some fun competition.
What’s your favorite post-workout meal or snack?
Depending on when I work out, it’s a little fruit and cheese. Usually dinner is soon after my afternoon class.
If you could only do one exercise for the rest of your life, what would it be?
This is a tough question, because they’re several I hope to be able to do long term, but I guess I’d say something cardio (biking, rowing, or walking).
